What is TerraVision?

TerraVision is a free, open-source cloud architecture diagram generator that works in both directions.

Design to code: describe a system to your AI assistant and get a diagram with every resource in its VPC, subnet, zone or resource group, drawn with the official AWS, Azure or Google Cloud icons. Refine it by talking, then have the assistant write the Terraform for it.

Code to diagram: point it at existing Terraform or OpenTofu code and get a diagram of what the code deploys, built from terraform plan. A GitHub Action can redraw the diagram whenever the code changes.

It runs on your own computer, needs no access to your cloud account, and exports PNG, SVG, editable draw.io files and interactive HTML. It works as a command-line tool and as an MCP server and plugin for Claude, ChatGPT desktop, Codex, GitHub Copilot and Cursor.
