What is TCPView?

TCPView is a Windows utility that provides detailed information about all TCP and UDP endpoints on your system, including the local and remote addresses and the status of TCP connections. It can also report the name of the process that owns the endpoint. TCPView is a more user-friendly version of the Netstat program and includes Tcpvcon, a command-line version with the same functionality.

When launched, TCPView identifies all active TCP and UDP endpoints and converts IP addresses into domain names. It can display or hide resolved names and shows the name of the process owning each endpoint. Its default setting refreshes every second, but this can be adjusted. Endpoints that change state between updates are highlighted: yellow for changes, red for deletions, and green for new endpoints.

TCPView also permits users to terminate established TCP/IP connections by selecting File|Close Connections or right-clicking on a connection and selecting Close Connections. The output window can be saved to a file through the Save menu item.
