What is Tatami?
Tatami is a macOS workspace manager that combines automatic BSP tiling with virtual workspaces, without disabling SIP. You get the window tiling yabai is known for and fast app-grouping workspaces in one app. Sort your apps into workspaces, switch with a hotkey or a trackpad swipe, and each workspace tiles itself automatically. No shell scripting.

- Switch workspaces by hotkey, trackpad swipe, or recent
- Per-display workspaces, cycled per display or across all
- Directional focus, swap, and resize (vim h/j/k/l)
- Zoom, balance, and toggle split orientation
- Drag to swap or insert, with a live drop preview
- Floating windows kept on top without disabling SIP
- Ignore mode to leave an app's window untouched
- focus-follows-mouse and mouse-follows-focus
- Auto-open and reopen assigned apps
- Shared apps across every workspace
- Configurable gaps, a menu bar item, and an on-screen HUD
