What is TallCMS?
TallCMS is a modern, open-source Content Management System built on the TALL stack — Tailwind CSS, Alpine.js, Laravel, and Livewire — with a Filament admin panel and a daisyUI-powered block system at its core. It's designed for developers who want the productivity of Laravel and Filament without giving up the polish of a real, content-editor-friendly CMS.
What makes TallCMS distinctive is that it works two ways. You can run it as a standalone application — a complete CMS with a web installer, themes, plugins, and signed one-click updates — or drop it into an existing Filament app as a plugin with a single Composer command. The same codebase serves both modes, with the core packaged separately as tallcms/cms.
Out of the box, it comes with the things you'd actually expect from a serious CMS: pages and posts with categories and templates, a full publishing workflow (Draft, Pending Review, Scheduled, Published), revision history with diff and rollback, a shareable preview system, a media library, a drag-and-drop menu builder with mega menu support, comments with moderation, Laravel Scout-powered full-text search, SEO with sitemaps and structured data, multi-language support, role-based permissions, and an optional Sanctum-authenticated REST API for headless setups.
The block-based editor ships with 16 built-in blocks — Hero, Pricing, FAQ, Testimonials, Features, Stats, Gallery, Contact Form, and more — each with entrance animations and responsive design baked in. A Pro tier adds 9 further blocks including Tabs, Accordion, Counter, Comparison, Before/After, Video, Code Snippet, Map, and Table.
Under the hood it requires PHP 8.2+, Laravel 12, and Filament 5, with MySQL, MariaDB, or SQLite. It's MIT licensed, supports S3-compatible cloud storage out of the box, and ships with a proper plugin and theme system for extension.
TallCMS is what you get when someone takes the modern Laravel + Filament developer experience and builds an editor-friendly CMS on top of it — opinionated where it should be, extensible where it matters.
