Talkative by Sumit Das

Talkative is a free dictation app for Windows that lives in the system tray. Hold a hotkey (Right Ctrl by default), or tap it to start and stop, and speak. When you let go, your words are transcribed, cleaned up and pasted wherever your cursor is: email, chat apps, documents, your browser or a terminal.

The cleanup removes filler words (um, uh), repeated words and spoken corrections, and adds punctuation, while keeping your own wording.

A second hotkey dictates code and terminal commands as runnable text: say "git push hyphen u origin main" and get git push -u origin main. It works for git, dotnet, npm, SQL and React.

You choose how it runs: Cloud mode works right after installing on any PC, or Local mode runs fully offline after a one-time download, so your voice and text never leave your computer. A personal dictionary and text shortcuts let you teach it names and terms.
