It works well but its a little too complicated on first setup and requires a lot of tools that are constantly running in the background.

What is SwitchResX?

SwitchResX is a tool designed to manage resolutions of all your monitors and HDTVs. This includes convenient methods for managing the contents of multiple desktops, for creating custom resolutions for non-standard TVs and other display devices, and even advanced scripting support to switch between setting automatically. Additionally, it is particularly useful for solving issues such as overscan and underscan, where the output from your mac is not taking up the entire screen on a TV or projector, or when the edges of the screen are cut off.
