What is Swapbar?

Swapbar is a native macOS menu bar app for people who run several Claude Code accounts through claude-swap (cswap). It keeps every account's 5-hour, weekly and per-model quota in view, so you see a limit coming instead of hitting it in the middle of a task.

Features:

  • All accounts at a glance: each account's plan and its 5h, 7d and per-model (Fable) windows, with time to reset
  • One-click switching from the popover, or from any app with global shortcuts (⌃⌥S opens Swapbar, ⌃⌥⇧S switches to the account with the most quota left)
  • Quota notifications: a heads-up when the current account runs low, with a Switch button for the best other account, and another when a depleted account resets
  • Switch suggestion: when the current account is low, the popover names the account with the most room
  • Token and cost summary: today and 30-day cost, tokens and requests from local Claude Code transcripts, split per account and per model, at API list prices
  • The current account's quota in the menu bar, as remaining or used
  • Auto-switch settings for cswap, light and dark mode, launch at login

Swapbar makes no API calls of its own to Anthropic; it reads accounts and quotas from cswap. Built in Rust with gpui (Zed's UI framework): no Electron, about 4 MB, signed and notarized. Free and open source under the MIT license.
