What is Strobe DMX?

Strobe runs a band's stage lights from a Mac. Build a setlist of tracks, place your LED bars and fog machine in a 3D view of the stage, and put light cues on each song's timeline, in sync with the music. Cues can also be fired live from any MIDI controller. Strobe follows MainStage over MIDI: patch changes switch songs, the MIDI clock sets the tempo, and Start/Stop play the lights with the band. It talks to the lights through an Enttec Open DMX USB interface. Built by an indie band for its own shows, after finding that the free DMX tools no longer ran on recent macOS nor followed MainStage.
