SSDownload is a free and open-source download manager for Windows 10 and 11, written in Rust with a native Win32 interface.
Files are downloaded over up to 16 connections. A download resumes only when the server confirms the file has not changed, so a resumed file never mixes two versions, and a finished download never overwrites an existing file.
A companion extension for Chrome and Edge adds a download button to videos on the page. It lists the available qualities, audio and subtitle tracks, and can save audio as MP3. Video downloads use yt-dlp and FFmpeg, which the app fetches from their official releases and verifies by SHA-256. Live streams can be recorded.
Other features include a reorderable queue with pause and resume, speed limits, named queues with time windows, folder rules, batch ranges, a site crawler, a command line, tray controls and signed automatic updates. The interface is available in English, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German.
SSDownload has no account, telemetry, advertising or server of its own. DRM-protected streams are not supported.
