What is SquareStar?

SquareStar is a lightweight, open-source market viewer built natively for Windows in C++.

It brings stock research tools into a portable desktop application, including ticker search, interactive charts, watchlists, screeners, stock comparisons, company news, market data, price alerts, desktop notifications, and multi-stock monitoring.

SquareStar does not require an account and installer, and it contains no ads, telemetry SDK, behavioral analytics, or crash-report uploader. The application is distributed as a single portable Windows executable, with settings and app data stored locally beside the program when needed.

Yahoo-backed market data works without an API key. Finnhub integration is optional and uses a user-supplied API key.

Charts and data can also be exported to formats including PNG, JPEG, PDF, CSV, TXT, and JSON.

SquareStar is MIT licensed and its source code is publicly available. It is designed as a market viewer and research tool, not a trading platform or investment-advice service.
