What is Spectacle Wndow Manager?
Easily organize windows without using a mouse.
Using Spectacle, you can view multiple documents side-by-side, move windows to other displays, or even focus your full attention on a single task.
Spectacle makes use of several keyboard shortcuts that trigger specific window actions. A window action is nothing more than a command that tells Spectacle how to change the size and/or position of a particular window. A keyboard shortcut consists of one or more modifier keys paired with a character key. The default keyboard shortcuts can be changed at any time. Use new key combinations to trigger window actions, or clear particular keyboard shortcuts to disable window actions entirely.

Comments and Reviews
When I have to use someone else's Mac, I try to use the shortcuts without thinking about it until I remember that it's only installed on my computer. It's simple and makes me more efficient.
Good, simple, configable and it's free!
After some experience with i3wm on Linux I was trying to something which similar features on OS X. Spectacle turned out even better as it not gets in your way and very very simple to remember hot keys and start.
It is an good an well working, free alternative for window tidy. You can manage your window via shortcuts or mouse. The only thing i miss is customize my own window formats.
What I need for managing all the windows i use on Mac when I'm an old Windows user! It's free and open source in difference to Cinch.
You don't have the drag and drop possibilites, but I like keyboard shortcuts better.
