What is SlowBooks Pro?

A free bookkeeping and accounting application for Windows, macOS, and Linux, built as a clean-room replacement for QuickBooks 2003 Pro. It includes double-entry accounting, unlimited invoicing and estimates, full US payroll with tamper-evident W-2/940/941 tax forms, perpetual inventory with automatic COGS, bank reconciliation with OFX/QFX import, a real-time analytics dashboard, and optional bring-your-own-key AI analysis (7 providers, including self-hosted). There are no invoice caps, revenue ceilings, trials, or paid tiers. Every company is a single local file — no cloud, no account, no telemetry. Windows gets a code-signed native installer; servers, macOS, and Linux use Docker. Imports from QuickBooks Desktop via IIF and syncs with QuickBooks Online.
