What is Simbioza?

Simbioza is an open-source, self-hosted wiki and CMS for creating, organizing, and publishing knowledge. It combines structured workspaces with page trees, custom navigation, granular permissions, drafts, review and publishing workflows, version history, and multilingual content.

Its visual editor goes beyond formatted text: authors can add images, attachments, tables, charts, timelines, tabs, accordions, dropdowns, reusable page includes, and dynamic elements such as calendars and tasks. Calendar features include shared and resource calendars, CalDAV access, and meeting planning with availability checks. Sites and individual workspaces can have their own themes and menus. Optional accessibility settings offer additional reading and color preferences.

Simbioza can import Confluence XML space exports, bringing over pages, attachments, links, and supported macros. Some elements are converted into native, editable Simbioza content; unsupported items are identified in an import report for review. Its modular architecture lets organizations choose the capabilities they need while keeping their content and installation under their own control.
