It is a great idea though many crucial functions are not yet implemented.
Awesome is that it is an upcomming alternative for Elementor. You can already create pages and publish (export static pages) them to a local folder or to a remote ftp site. so basically it works to create pages. the interface has plenty of options which are overwhelming; even for SEO or social media stuff.

Comments and Reviews
I was seeking a website builder for a friend, this one looked pretty good and after some tests it could be a successor of KompoZer
Hello KompoZer was indeed a source of inspiration! Welcome to Silex
The entire product website is made in Flash, so it takes like half a minute to load the homepage, and my scrollwheel doesn't even fricking work. Yes, this really makes me want to build a website with your tools.
It is open and free so, you can help make it better I agree with you though, and I helped the team make it full html
I've been using Silex for sometime. I agree that it's a bit slower to load the homepage. But, ONCE LOADED, it's a MAGIC!
And the 'slowness in loading' is something common in all-web-based-design-apps... So, not really a negative thing here.

It seems they are working on that and the docs, but it is still a long way to go and I think they need contributors.
When I am online: I want to be as positive as possible. but, this online service is scam. really sorry to say this.
You: "why, o Salam" Me: well, for one, it FORCES you to have an account with GitLab website. for two, it add SOME quandary to the whole experience. (millions of thing must be true to be able to publish your now-ready website.)
My rating to Silex: 1/10. Honesty "Sorry" is in order to the respectable readers.
What are you talking about? It's free software, and Gitlab is just a site like Github where you can upload files for free and share them if you want.
(from Novice) Looks like you need a website url to save your layout First they it will have you sign into GitLab To sign up with GitLab by either gitlab.com/users/sign_up or gitlab.com/-/trialregistrations, you will need to give credit card info.
Thanks for your feedback
You don’t need a website URL to save a layout Silex saves your project directly into a Git repository
By default, this can be a GitLab repository, but no website URL is required. Creating a free GitLab account does not require a credit card
We’ll clarify this in the UI to avoid confusion
Wonderful project and it´s really free.
Hey thank you for the feedback ! \o/
Far and away the best and most graphically precise website builder I have ever used.
Oh thank you so much for the support 🙏 Let's keep in touch on the forums or chat
