Not a comment on Seeking Alpha but on the alternatives. I guess this is one of the risks with crowd sourcing, but almost all of those alternatives are nothing like SA.
To begin with, SA is principally a site for financial analysis on stocks, macro, etc. It does not have any brokerage functions nor does it have any technical analysis (apart from the rudimentary basics you can find on any finance website).
With that in mind, the list of alternatives are, by and large, solely brokerage accounts, or solely technical analysis software. While these alternatives usually have some rudimentary research analysis - most of it computer generated multiples, etc without any human thoughts applied to check whether it makes any sense - there are many sites / apps on the list which provide no analytics at all. For actual comparables to SA you need to look at sites like SumZero, GuruFocus, etc.
The fact that none of the listed alternatives are close to SA should give everyone pause.
