What is Secufile?

Secufile is a free, registration-free file-transfer service that encrypts your files and turns them into a secure link you can share by email or chat. It is run by the Japanese non-profit PAPS as a safer, modern replacement for "PPAP" (emailing a password-protected ZIP and then sending the password over the same channel).

Highlights: • Free, no sign-up. Up to 10 GB per transfer. • Files are encrypted in your browser before they leave your device. Choose end-to-end encryption (E2EE) and neither the key nor the password ever reaches the server. • Share the link, and send the password over a separate channel — removing PPAP's core weakness. • Set a retention period and download limit; files are deleted automatically when they expire. • Receive folders: ask others to upload files to you with no account and no password. Public-key encryption means only you can open what arrives — not the sender, not the operator. • Resumable uploads and downloads, so large files survive flaky connections. • Open source (MIT). Also available as a Chrome extension.
