What is Seashore?
Seashore is an open source image editor for Mac OS. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMPs technology and uses the same native file format.
However, unlike the GIMP, Seashore only aims to serve the basic image editing needs of most computer users, not to provide a replacement for professional image editing products.

Said about Seashore as an alternative
very good alternative to artrrage
IMHO Seashore has a much more friendly user interface than GIMP.
Although Seashore is now discontinued, it was one of the closest open source equivalents to Microsoft Paint for Mac users. It's a shame it's discontinued.

Tried it in an earlier version, and wasn't too impressed, but nowadays it rocks! Perfect for quick drawings and fixes, but seldom feels lacking feature-wise.
