What is Search Monkey?
A fast real-time search engine for displaying regular expression matches (both file name and content) across multiple directories.
Written in JAVA it is highly portable, and as well as running on Linux (Gnome & KDE), ports are available on FreeBSD, or even Windows and MacOS.

Very nice as a grep tool. But for anything static an index search is a must.
Search Monkey has moved to Sourceforge - Search Monkey
Requires JAVA , I will not be testing it in Windows.
