its ok alas some issues like:
Scoop has changed how I install my portable apps. Makes my life so much easier. Instead of manually updating apps and digging through folders to back up my settings, Scoop just takes care of it. Plus, the app repository is really extensive.
Scoop is simply the best windows package manager. It comes with all the things you miss when you're stuck on windows (and more). All the tools are portable and run in userland, no admin rights needed.
Fast, simple, have a pretty good selection of apps that you can extend yourself. Good even for people who not particularly versed in CLI.
Preferred to chocolatey, though I use both.
*Command line (CLI) only *Does not require admin account or UAC prompts *Easy to update all your apps with a single command *More extensive repositories than choco, and you can create your own--very useful for setting up new machines or for business sysadmins
Great command-line installer with very large default buckets, and it is easy to make and maintain your own.
Unfortunately the original developer is no longer active, so the manager itself has not been updated officially in a while (only the buckets). A version under continued development can be found here - it can be configured after the base original scoop installation.
