SciTE Alternatives

    SciTE is described as 'SCIntilla based Text Editor. Originally built to demonstrate Scintilla, it has grown to be a generally useful editor with facilities for building and running programs' and is a very popular Text Editor in the Development category. There are more than 100 alternatives to SciTE for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, BSD and Chrome OS. Most alternatives are Text and Code Editors. The best alternative is Visual Studio Code, which is free.
