What is SchemaShield?
SchemaShield is an evidence-first, read-only preflight for data schema changes. It classifies additions, removals, renames, and type or unit changes; shows downstream compatibility risks; and produces a reproducible decision receipt before migration. It generates compatibility SQL, a dbt schema patch, an impact report, a pull-request summary, provenance, submission status, and an approval-gated writeback plan. The public replay uses synthetic data, while a separate verified local integration ran against DataHub OSS v1.6.0. SchemaShield is open source under Apache-2.0. Development and demonstration production used disclosed AI assistance; product claims are backed by public tests, source code, and recorded evidence.
