Satoru is a mood tracker, journal, and meditation app for iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android. It records mood, energy, sleep, and custom metrics, with guided morning and evening journal entries. Its AI guides draw on philosophy, contemplative traditions, and modern practices, including guides based on Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Carl Jung, pragmatic Buddhism, and CBT thought reframing.
Charts, streaks, correlations, and AI analyses track relationships between recorded factors and mood over time. The app also includes a meditation timer, guided meditations with ambient sound, and Box Breathing, 4-7-8, and Coherent Breathing exercises. Check-ins can be made through an iPhone widget, Siri, or Apple Watch, while sleep and activity data can be imported from Apple Health or Health Connect.
Journal content is encrypted in transit and at rest. Satoru states that it does not use third-party analytics, sell user data, or use data for training. Conversations can be excluded from a guide's memory or history. The free tier includes 18 guides and a monthly AI interaction allowance; Premium adds more interactions, a custom guide, deeper analyses, care-provider appointment reports, and the full meditation and breathing libraries after a 7-day trial.
