River Notes is a home for an active creative life: somewhere to write, speak, gather what emerges, and carry it forward.

There's more to your thinking than you know. A thought arrives on the drive home, and if you don't catch it while it's fresh, it's gone. Words are how we think, and getting them out, spoken or written, helps to take things further. Thursday's thoughts can flow into Friday's.

Open River up, write or speak, close it. And tomorrow, just come on back and do it again. Today's page is already open, so there is nothing to file and nothing to do before you get going. This is simple by design: an unscripted and unhurried place to get your words out. Write on any device, one at a time, with no note caps and no time limits. Multiple devices on the go, always in step, is on the annual plan.

If you've got years in another app, you can bring them here when you're ready. An import is a copy, so your other app will carry on doing what it does. If something can't come across, we hand it back in a leftovers file, with a note saying why.

Your entries are encrypted before they sync. We don't and won't train AI on your writing. You can export everything at any time, in markdown.
