Rhythm Writer

Rhythm Writer is a web app for writing drum charts, as minimal or as detailed as the job needs. A chart is a list of sections, each with a time signature, a repeat count and a step grid you paint with a finger or a mouse. The grid turns into real drum notation as you go, and any section or the whole song plays back, with an optional count-in and metronome.

For a gig you can stop at sections and bar counts. For a lesson or a cover that has to be exact, paint every accent, ghost note and open hi-hat. Either way it prints as a clean one-page chart, and gig view shows it large on a tablet or phone at the kit.

There is no account to create. Songs are saved on your own device, in the browser or in a folder you choose, and the app installs to a phone, tablet or computer and works offline.

Free for 3 songs with every feature included. Unlimited songs are $29 a year.
