Fast sign up, throw away credit cards. However, it's pretty standard banking. It's not private, no matter what they say. I asked customer service about their privacy policy and if I could be excluded from monitoring/selling/saving data. The Indian dude just kept saying "don't worry it's very private," without giving me any documentation or agreeing not to sell my data. But it's not like any legit banking service would do this anyways.

I an attempting to be polite. But I would strongly suggest a avoiding Revolut. I had an evening planned with my partner, which was utterly destroyed by their customers services having fun messing me around. I strongly suspect that they were using my photo as to ask for identification that it is illegal to ask for. I will be making a complaint to the Police on the grounds of harassment. There is little competition at the moment to all possibilities Revolut provides, especially when it comes to using custom physical card while traveling abroad. It really allows to save noticeable amount of money. It isn't privacy friendly, you basically have to hand over all your data to register, but it was expected considering it's for financial transfers. This is really a good solution for someone looking for a method to save on currency exchange rates.

It's not privacy friendly. They are required to collect data on you. It is a bit more private than a U.S. bank, since they have to follow EU protocol. But no conventional banking offers any semblance of privacy. Try privacy.com for a tiny bit more privacy.

**Evaluation of data privacy policy at Revolut: **``

Here's an example of how we use your personal information for marketing``

If you are a Revolut customer, we may contact you about optional extras or promotional offers. We may use information we gather about you through your use of our services to tailor these offers to you.``

-> app requests access to contact book, location, browsing history, …``

-> access via privacy-preserving Tor browser to Revolut web site blocked``

-> for a person using Revolut for a predominant part of his/her financial transaction, the collected information provide a very detailed personal profile of interests, likes, and purchase decisions.``

-> the phone number allows extremely targeted marketing calls with suggestions about “your friend also bought ...”``

=> interesting and modern payment system, missing a payable and verifyable opt-out of data collection scheme (current ‘Premium’ account generously offers for instance customized credit card design, ...)

Yes, but being in the EU, they actually follow much more strict privacy protocols than in the USA.

So it is better in a privacy standpoint than U.S. banks. But there doesn't exist any conventional banking that protects your privacy in a real way. Go ahead and try calling Bank of America or Chase or any of them and asking to not sell your data/make a CCPA request. They will just offer to cancel your account.

I will also be making a complaint to the UK Financial Services Commission directly, after twice trying to use their complaints procedure only for my complaint to be deleted before completion. Their security system is highly invasive of your privacy. To say I disliked Revolut because their customers service is terrible would be a massive understatement.

In comparison to conventional banks they are far more rigid and aggressive I had an issue about confirming my account, so I explained that I was disabled and then rather than helping me with my issues they had me wait around whilst they fished for information about my disability. They did this on multiple occaalsions they then repeatedly lied to me, and at the end of each encounter after claiming to be a part of the on boarding team at the start would at the end give me a link to their complaints form, which then logged me out of it just as I was trying to fill it in. And then tell me they were escalting it to their onboarding team .Over several hours they repeatedly contacted me even though I told them that I was Ill claiming they were their to help me, before at the end of their fun yet again complaining they were escalating it to the on boarding team, the very team they had claimed at the start to be part of at the start. I since recieved two more requests for them to (passively aggressively) bait me again and again. Their goes a third attempt. They know I am Ill - they know I am exhausted and they are using my details to repeatedly offer to help me this time! Do you really want to deal with a bank whose employees seemingly enjoy making their clients suffer.

It's very easy to sign up (I was accepted within 5 minutes with just a social security card number and no other verification). The major drawbacks are that if you don't have a paid plan, it seems as if there is no protection from things like lost/stolen packages or travel insurance included like there is with Visa/Mastercard/American Express.

Also, no aliases for your cards. You have to use your name and address when making payments, even to services like online food take-out. Edit: dropping to 3 stars from what I considered 3.5 before. Can't even get the check to deposit. Stuck on loading screen.

Edit2: dropping to 2 stars after reading their privacy policy: [https://www.revolut.com/en-US/legal/privacy-revolut/](https://www.revolut.com/en-US/legal/privacy-revolut/) - In other words, they can store your data indefinitely, collect everything about you that you give them, can send your data to third parties such as Facebook, and can send and store your data overseas.

Edit3: dropping to 1 star and removing all my money from them. They no longer allow me to use GrapheneOS or CalyxOS. They logged me out of my phone and won't allow me on anymore. They only want you to support Google or Apple.

Love revolut, since it is better than most banks out there. It even rivals Paypal.

However, I am going to focus on something else in this review: Revolut as a US stock trading app for those of us in the EU (since many millenial trader apps like Robinhood are only for US citizens).

When they added stock buy/sell options, I was thrilled. Quite barebones now, you need supplimentary apps to educate and watch stocks now, and they only have US stocks, but that didn't stop me from playing the game and making +60% with 3,000$ on Tesla stocks and others.

I foresee a bright future for Revolut if they place some emphasis on trading as well, since it is so convenient to start up an account.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the only Bitcoin I own is in my revolut account.

They are innovating with many other features (junior accounts, analytics, pay by phone number). It's a great platform with a lot of seeds to grow.

Been spending 60% of my "normal" expenditure through this app. It's the best I found for those that want to track a budget easily. As the app does it for you.

It is a true competitor to PayPal. It has great support and so many features, like analytics, instant notifications, send/request money (create payment links), you can donate, trade stocks, buy cryptos, exchange to foreign currencies at interbank exchange rate, … Premium members get » Disposable virtual cards, LoungeKey Pass access, Overseas medical insurance, Delayed baggage & delayed flight insurance and even a concierge to help you manage your lifestyle. Crazy good!

What is Revolut?

Revolut is an alternative to traditional banks that offers an internationally focused, app-based approach with built-in features for budgeting, expense tracking, split payments and much more. Setting up an account and making deposits through the app is free and users can opt to purchase a physical, stainless steel debit card for easy access to funds and featuring surcharge-free withdrawals from ATMs within reasonable monthly limits. The app provides security features to disable and enable contact-less, swipe, and online payments with the card as well as the ability to freeze and unfreeze it.

For banking features, Revolut provides transfers at fair rates between multiple currencies. Similar to services like PayPal, users can easily send and request money and can even generate a link to receive payment from people not using the app. It also includes features of split payment services, letting users easily split up bill payments among friends and family. Users can also buy and sell Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrencies within the app.

The app also features a savings Vault with fair interest rates and allowing automated deposits of spare change as well as one-off or recurring transfers. Meanwhile, Group Vaults make it easy to share and save together with others. Budgets are easily managed as well with a monthly budget planner and real-time expense tracking and overall spending is always available at a glance through an intuitive analytics tab.
