That said, the software can be very frustrating to use, and there is little support from the developer.
Please be aware that there are actually two versions of this application: one (older) version is open source, the source code is hosted on Github, the other (newer) version is closed source, limited freeware which has some premium features which require purchasing an unlock code to use them.
Perhaps this application should be listed twice: once as open source for the older version, once as limited freeware for the proprietary version.

How do "premium features" make Raccoon NOT open-source?
I'd been hoping and praying for an application like this to appear for years.
Finally there is a hassle free way to download Android applications such as TextSecure and transfer them to your phone, without having to soil said phone by linking it with a Google account.
The only two caveats are you need Java on your PC and a throwaway Google account.
