What is Purple hammer ?
Purple Hammer is native Mac and Windows construction takeoff and estimating software. Markup drawings, measure quantities, compare revisions and price the job in live spreadsheets without bouncing between PDF software and Excel.
Every measurement becomes a worksheet row. Quantities can pull rates from cost databases, calculate line totals and update the job total instantly. The built-in spreadsheets include familiar Excel functions, lookup tables, project-wide estimating formulas and working XLSX export.
Purple Hammer includes length, area, perimeter, count, volume and wall measurements; vector and raster snapping; Magic Measure for finding boundaries and removing openings; and Magic Count for finding repeated symbols. Watched folders track drawings through revisions, renames and moves, while auto-align, overlay and blink comparison show what changed so only the difference needs re-measuring.
The native viewer is built for large drawing sets, with fast pan and zoom on both macOS and Windows. Outputs include marked-up PDFs, Excel workbooks and comparison PDF, PNG and GIF files. A 30-day free trial is available.
