In this list, I'll give some suggestions on how to set up Windows for your less technically experienced family members. The goals are that it should be functional (i.e. not require debugging due to going overboard with modifications, like when installing browser extensions), safe, and privacy friendly.

The most direct way to change Firefox settings to maximize privacy. A word of warning though: the more unusual your settings, the more you stand out in the crowd. So there's a tradeoff. Best is to learn to use different browsers for different things online (one for banking, one like Brave for general browsing, etc.)
