Porticus Alternatives

    Porticus is described as 'Cocoa GUI for the MacPorts package manager. MacPorts provides ready to build open-source software packages modified to compile and run on Mac OS X. Porticus provides a GUI front-end to this tool'. There are three alternatives to Porticus for Mac, Xfce, Debian and Linux. The best alternative is Synaptic, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Porticus are Pallet (Free, Open Source) and PortAuthority (Paid).
