What is PolyDrive?

PolyDrive uses Apple's File Provider framework to mount remote and attached storage as native macOS Finder locations. It can connect to a variety of storage providers like Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, Dropbox, and more. It also supports self-hosted and network storage, SMB shares, Android devices connected via USB, and read-only ext2, ext4 disk images, and Raspberry Pi SD cards.

There is no PolyDrive account or backend server. The app authenticates directly with the storage provider using your credentials, stored in the macOS Keychain. Files are fetched on demand, so no local disk space is used until a file is opened.

The mounted drive functions as a regular POSIX path, allowing shell scripts and command-line tools to interact with remote files without a provider SDK.

The app is free for two cloud drives, unlimited SMB shares, USB Android devices, and local ext2/3/4 disks. A one-time in-app purchase increases the limit to ten cloud drives.
