Pitop Viewer information
What is Pitop Viewer?
Pitop Viewer is a lightweight image and video viewer for macOS, built with Tauri (Rust + the system WebView), so the app stays around 24 MB instead of the hundreds of megabytes typical of Electron-based apps.
It opens common image formats plus HEIC/HEIF and camera RAW files natively, and plays videos, falling back to the system's default player for formats macOS can't decode in-app. Beyond viewing, it offers light editing: rotate, flip, crop, brightness/contrast/saturation adjustments, filters (black & white, sepia, sharpen, blur), and EXIF editing (including stripping GPS and metadata).
Other features include a resizable thumbnail bar, a mosaic grid view, a file-tree sidebar with customizable quick-access folders, an EXIF info panel with histogram and GPS map, star ratings, custom albums, a slideshow, full-screen mode, light/dark themes, and multi-language support.
Pitop Viewer is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license, updates automatically, and can be installed via Homebrew.
