Pimcore is an outstanding framework for Digital Commerce. It combines content and e-commerce in a way, it’s been demanded for years, but has never actually been implemented in any framework or platform. Further, pimcore offers the functionality of a Content Management, - a Digital Asset Management (DAM), - and a Product Information Management system. In addition, pimcore provides a high-performance e-commerce framework to its partner agencies, in order to realize more ambitious Digital Commerce projects.
The only CMS I could find that didn't make me pull my hair out as a developer. The flexibility where you need it without forcing strict conventions and still giving an excellent out-of-the-box functionality. The biggest advantage of the system is in my opinion the possibility of starting at any branch of its functionality (CMS, PIM, DAM, E-commerce) and developing into the other ones when needed. This makes integration of such system into existing company workflows straightforward and comfortable. For example, it can easily suit clients that initially need just a PIM and then want to add a website and a shop or the other way around. There’s no immediate need for troublesome connections between many systems since Pimcore offers real multi-channel publishing out-of-the-box that covers most of the needs. But even interacting with other systems is where Pimcore shines as it is really easy to get data from and into the system programatically. Complex requirements most of the time require custom development and a system that’s friendly to developers and end-users is a dream. I do think Pimcore is such system.
Pimcore is one such platform which not only offers out-of-the box capabilities for CMS, PIM, DAM, MDM but also provides space for logical thinking by minimizing repetitive development tasks. Building data model in Pimcore is real fast and it caters to evolving requirements by giving flexibility for changes.
Pimcore is the leading open source PIM solution. As an agency which independently advises over several PIM solutions. We found that Pimcore is for sure the most feature rich and stable PIM solution available. The development of the platform is going rapidly and more and more corporates are starting using it.
