Really helpful for managing the consistency of our copy across the product (in English). And also keeping all translations in one place. In-context editor is brilliant for the first steps of translation.
As with most tools, you kind of have to commit to the setup to get the payoff, but we are really happy with our choice. It's great to find a tool that barely requires any engineer time after setup. Was able to add two more languages within 4 weeks as a result of using this tool.
PhraseApp is an easy to use localization tool. It allows to quickly translate whole projects without creating any extra effort. Developers create so-called "keys" in PhraseApp, that can be populated afterwards for all the different locals one might have. The extra features that PhraseApp brings besides the core functionality seem well thought through and are quite useful. Having the possibilities to add screenshots and comments to certain keys help to keep track of changes. Handling and navigating the menus is seamless and smooth, not cluttered nor too fancy. I would recommend PhraseApp to anybody, having to localize their product. Plus if anything should break, which rarely happens, their support will provide you with sufficient and fast help!
The user interface is functional and promotes a good experience. Overall the translation process is smooth, promoted by fast loading times. I especially like the “show changes” bottom to streamline the review.
PhraseApp makes it easy for our copy department to manage, review, translate and control all the keys for our app. Multiple people work on it, from developers to marketing managers - PhraseApp is reliable, fast and offers a lot of possibilities. The team is always eager to improve and works closely with its customers, asks for feedback and is open to suggestions. Help is provided quickly and hassle-free. I enjoy working with it.
Phraseapp gives us a great overview over our locales and makes it easy for even non technical people to add and edit translations. Colleagues and Customers can work together to add all necessary translations and as a PO I only have to type in 'phraseapp pull' to the CLI before each release and everyone is happy to see his changes in the productive environment.
The UI is very easy to follow. The search functionality is very easy and accurate. We also use PhraseApp to follow the translations for about 8 different languages. The option to group users based on roles and apply different permissions on each one saved us many times.
Apart from this I never experienced such a great support. Via the website chat you can reach the phraseapp team anytime and if your counterpart is not in office someone else will take over to solve your issues as fast as possible.
Cons To be honest, I couldn't find anything that I don't like in this application. I personally use it for about 6 months and everything works as it should work, every time.
Phraseapp is good for keeping translation management out of the tech team. I like generalised interface for translation content that is up to date to everyone. It is easy to find what is missing, easy to point error on translations and push the task to update the locales.
However, I am unsure that I need new complex and modern features, but I still pay fee, that includes them.
I often use PhraseApp to translate text containing tags and links for 3 very different projects, I must admit that this application is perfect, especially to manage the bidirectional text (LTR and RTL). In other words, I've never had a problem loading a page, accessing a translation project, sharing a link, commenting or refreshing a page. Also, PhraseApp has a lot of great features. In fact, I consider that PhraseApp integrates a very user-friendly interface and very easy to use, I open different tabs of PhraseApp that I had to translate without feeling any slowdown to load pages or refresh my work. I have never encountered any problem concerning translation loss or other. Finally, I consider that PhraseApp is an extraordinary tool for everyday usage, it facilitates developers tasks in integrating languages. Thank you PhraseApp!
