What is Peekr?

Peekr is an open-source search engine established in 2022. Originally called SVMetaSearch, it offers four search modes, with two more currently on hold. The search modes can be specified via a URL query string, useful for saving preferred search queries.

The search modes include 'Everything', pulling from nearly all Peekr-supported sources, including Wikipedia infoboxes, Searx results, and interactive widgets. It used to include Google results. The 'Only Peekr results' mode displays results only from Peekr's index. The 'Images' mode is for image search, though its image index size is still small. The 'Videos' mode is for video search, requiring video-related metadata. Peekr's crawler doesn't support JavaScript, so PeerTube instances are used as a fallback.
