PDFTrail reads those tables — balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, notes to accounts — and turns them into clean Excel spreadsheets, with row and column structure intact and labels next to their numbers. This includes reports where the source pages are scanned images, not born-digital text: PDFTrail's on-device OCR reads the page and rebuilds the table.

PDFTrail handles both kinds of PDF:

• Born-digital PDFs, where the text is already inside the file.
• Scanned PDFs, where each page is an image. PDFTrail uses Apple's Vision framework to recognize the text and rebuild tables and prose.
