Drag & Drop shows the "+" but it doesn't work. The tags(?) function is inconvenient. Uninstalled (but I had to do that twice as it still showed up in my Apps list). But, hey, it's free so some folks might find something useful here. Try it, I guess.

It's not an alternative to Acrobat Pro; it lacks many features. You can't use it to scan documents or generate PDFs from images. You can't rotate documents, you can't extract pages, and it runs very slowly. I didn't like it at all.

What is Paperwork?
Paperwork is a personal document manager for scanned documents (and PDFs).
It's designed to be easy and fast to use. The idea behind Paperwork is "scan & forget": You should be able to just scan a new document and forget about it until the day you need it again.
In other words, let the machine do most of the work for you.

Comments and Reviews
I scanned tons of documents with paperwork. For me it's the optimal solution because the documents stay in the filesystem and don't disappear in a blackbox and of course it's Open Source.

Not so great for small business documentation organization. Especially awful for organizing receipts.
the app works very well on linux i cant complain it does what is suppose to do, Paperwork put together many tools under one single GUI so keep this in mind when you use the app
for windows users i would recommend something like this to search in PDF for linux just use recoll is even faster
where u can complain?
on everything unrelated to the app for example the OCR is done by Tesseract so the OCR failures is not Paperwork fault
the export of the files (base doc + OCR) is done using opensource library and mixed content raster compression libraries simply are bad, very bad in the open source world, so while a proprietary library can give you an pdf files under 1 MB with open source libraries Paperwork export a PDF that is 10 MB ¯_(?)_/¯
Wow! It exactly fits my needs for a personal document manager, like receipts, contracts, etcetera. It's up to you if you want your archive in a cloud like Dropbox or just offline, tags, plain, OCR + search, and completely free!
[Edited by RobertL87, February 25] Too bad it's still very slow and has bugs, but I'm willing to wait and see how it develops, because at this moment I don't know any alternative..
