Oscobo is a search engine created for the sole purpose of protecting your privacy while you search the web.
All traffic routed through Oscobo's search engine is SSL encrypted. Meaning your connection between the browser and Oscobo's servers are encrypted. We have also taken our encryption a few steps further by implementing Perfect-Forward Secrecy with our SSL implementation and encrypted your search queries locally to ensure that no one will be able to intercept or decrypt your search queries.
At this time, Oscobo does not have any of its own search technology. Instead, it is licensing its search index from Bing/Yahoo. This is an indication that Oscobo does not intend to compete on tech, but rather on its ability to offer a more private searching experience.
The privately-funded company intends to make money through what it describes as simple paid search. Its paid search ads will rely on the most basic search data — what a person types into the query box.
