What is Ora DJ?

Ora DJ is a modern DJ application for macOS that covers the entire preparation workflow in one place: importing and organizing your library, planning sets, rehearsing transitions, and exporting finished playlists for the booth. It is made for DJs who prepare with software like Rekordbox or Traktor and want a faster, more visual way to do the work that happens before a performance.

You start with your library. Ora DJ detects and imports your existing Rekordbox or Traktor collection automatically, including tracks, playlists, cue points, and tags, and makes everyday tasks like tagging, fixing beatgrids, and cleaning up metadata quick. From there you plan a set as a visual arc, laying tracks out in chapters by energy, key, BPM, or mood instead of scrolling a flat playlist. Dynamic, self-updating crates keep your collection organized and resurface tracks you would otherwise forget.

To test a set before you play it, connect a supported Pioneer DJ or AlphaTheta controller and rehearse on a real audio engine with time-stretching, EQ, filters, and beat FX. When the set is ready, export finished playlists back to Rekordbox or Traktor for the USB and the booth.

Ora DJ runs natively on macOS and stays fast even with libraries of tens of thousands of tracks. It is currently in open beta and free to use, with a free tier that will remain after launch.

Key features:

  • Automatic Rekordbox and Traktor library import (tracks, playlists, cues, tags) and export back out
  • Visual, chapter-based set planning by energy, key, BPM, and mood
  • Dynamic, self-updating crates and track colors for fast organization
  • Controller rehearsal on a real audio engine (time-stretch, EQ, filters, beat FX)
  • Accurate track analysis: beatgrids, key, phrases, and energy
  • Fast, native macOS performance at large library sizes
