OpenAnima information
What is OpenAnima?
OpenAnima is an open-source desktop overlay engine for Windows.
It lets users place animated and static assets directly on the desktop as movable overlay windows. Supported asset types include images, GIFs, APNG, WebM, frame-folder animations, sprite strips, spritesheets, and small HUD-style composite overlays.
OpenAnima is designed for desktop customization, fun visual overlays, game-style HUD experiments, stream decoration, and lightweight animated desktop assets.
Users can move overlays freely, adjust scale, opacity, and animation speed, lock overlays, enable click-through behavior, hide or show overlays, and restore their setup between sessions.
The project is built with Python and PySide6 and is released as open source under the MIT License.
