What is OnlyWhisper?

OnlyWhisper is a free menu bar app for Apple silicon Macs. Hold the right Option key, speak, and polished text is inserted into the app you are using. Tap the key once to dictate hands-free.

Speech recognition, polishing, translation, meeting notes, and file transcription run on the Mac. There is no account and no subscription. After a one-time model download, dictation works offline.

It needs macOS 27 or later on Apple silicon. Intel Macs are not supported. Dictation supports 57 languages, including English.
