omul

omul turns a slide deck into something the room can answer. Live polls, word clouds, quizzes with points and a leaderboard, open-text Q&A and rating scales sit in one deck next to ordinary text, image and video slides.

People join from their phone or laptop with a 6-digit code, a direct link or a QR code. They need no app, no account and no email address, and there is no cap on how many can take part.

The source is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0, and you can build and run your own instance with Docker Compose. The hosted version at omul.app is GDPR-compliant, runs on Hetzner servers in Falkenstein, Germany, and costs nothing while billing is still being built.

Not built yet: importing PowerPoint or Mentimeter files, single sign-on, and add-ins for Teams, Zoom or PowerPoint.
