What is Okigae?
Okigae swaps the small monochrome icons in your menu bar for illustrated characters. Pick a face for each app you want to change and leave the rest alone.
The menu bar is transparent by default, so a pasted-on image would sit in a visible box. Okigae samples the strip behind each item and uses it as the backdrop, which means the artwork blends whether your wallpaper shows through or you have reduced transparency turned on. That sampling is the only reason macOS asks for screen recording permission, and nothing is ever recorded or saved.
