What is Notepad++?
Notepad++ is a free source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages.
Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.

Comments and Reviews
I use Notepad++, and have for years. I love it! Couldn't ask for a better text editor with some advanced features beyond the standard Notepad.
Bulky, confused plugin management, lack of plugin support on x64
I'm using 64-bit version of Notepad++ and I'm using plugins. What am I doing wrong?
Simple, get the job done. Quite ugly.
A really nice application for code editing. I use it all the time with my HTML projects and gets the job done perfectly!
It's fine for an ugly-looking editor. Not sure the use-case anymore, as basic IDE can be run on any laptop, and there are much better looking editors.
Also, be advised to update it if you use it, as an exploit was found that could take over your computer:

Since 2010, I have used Notepad++ and I love it because never I had had any problem with it.
notepad++ is my go to when intentionally downloading a text editor and works great through wine but the UI is kind of bad. Only issue is not a real issue but annoyance from the developer using the downloads page and release version to spew political propaganda.
