I find the app quite visually appealing, especially thanks to the entertaining animations during the scanning process. However, what I liked the most is the ease of navigation through my duplicates. I have several Windows games 'bottled' in wine with Heroic app for Mac, so naturally they have a lot of the same system files I should not touch. Well, with DFF I could easily omit them and focus on the actual duplicates, such as books of the same format in my Calibre library and files downloaded...

Previews common file types and separate panes for duplicate files, duplicate folders, duplicate photos, and even similar folders. Very results-driven interface, IMO more focussed GUI than Gemini and way better GUI than DupeGuru. Very stable - helped me do deduplication across TB of data and several drives without a single crash, which I couldn't have done in DupeGuru. Immediately bought after some testing though I could have done dedupliation once with the Pro trial. Free version includes most features without limits. Great software!

I've been using Duplicate File Finder for years now. Oh my god, it makes my life so much easier! After I transfer my photos from my iPhone to my Mac, I just clean out all the similar photos using Duplicate File Finder, it literally takes a few minutes and frees up space on my Mac. I recommend it to everyone!
