What is Modbus Workbench?

Modbus Workbench is a free desktop tool for commissioning and diagnosing devices. It polls FC01–04 across multiple tabs at different intervals and writes with FC05/06/15/16 directly from the grid.

It records raw TX/RX frames with timestamps and saves them in .txt format, useful for diagnosing unresponsive devices. It includes a slave simulator for testing without hardware, over Modbus TCP or an RTU COM port.

It operates offline, is open-source under the MIT License, and available in English, Korean, Japanese, German, and Simplified Chinese.
