Modbus Connect

Modbus Connect is a desktop utility that interfaces with Modbus TCP devices. It combines a network scanner, a register monitoring client, and a data logger into one application. It's developed with a Rust backend and is compatible with Windows 7–11 (64-bit), macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), and Linux.

The network scanner scans IP ranges and unit IDs 1–247 to identify Modbus TCP devices and reads vendor and product information. The client feature allows monitoring of multiple devices with polling intervals from 100 ms to 60 s, live charting, and highlighting of changed values. It also provides a register configuration feature with per-register scaling and offset, custom formulas, derived values from combined registers, 30+ unit presets, and 8 data formats.

The data logger writes register data to CSV, JSON, or tab-delimited files, with log rotation and the ability to run multiple loggers simultaneously. The software also includes a protocol view that displays raw TX/RX traffic in hexadecimal format with timestamps for debugging. The workspace feature allows users to save devices, sessions, and charts for later use. The software has no restrictions on the number of devices or sessions.
