What is mirrord?

mirrord is an open-source developer tool that runs local code as if it were a pod in a remote Kubernetes cluster. Local processes see the cluster's real env vars, DNS, network, and inbound traffic, so engineers can iterate on a single service locally while interacting with the rest of the cluster's real services. AI coding agents use mirrord through the official skills bundle (https://github.com/metalbear-co/skills) to test the code they generate against real infrastructure instead of mocks. Customers include monday.com (350+ engineers on a single shared staging cluster), SurveyMonkey, Daylight Security, Cadence, CoLab, and zooplus. Open source under MIT; the commercial mirrord for Teams adds team-scale features like concurrent steal-with-filter, preview environments, database branching, queue splitting, and RBAC.
