What is Microsoft Foundry?
Microsoft Foundry is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) on Azure that simplifies AI operations, model building, and app development. It combines infrastructure with user-friendly interfaces, allowing developers to focus on creating applications. The platform unifies agents, models, and tools, and offers features like tracing, monitoring, evaluations, and customizable configurations. It also provides unified role-based access control, networking, and policies. Users can access over 1,900 models from various sources.
Foundry caters to application developers, ML engineers, data scientists, and IT administrators. It offers multi-agent orchestration, a tool catalog with over 1,400 tools, a memory feature for retaining contextual information, and Foundry IQ knowledge integration. It also allows publishing to Microsoft 365, Teams, BizChat, or containerized deployments.
