I was looking for a software that had the following features:
Metabase easily had all off that, plus a nice community behind it that can help you.
I managed to create some nice looking dashboard is less than 30 minutes as the whole setup takes less than 5 minutes.
Highly recommended for any dashboard creation.
Simple to deploy, simple to use, strong compartmentalization of data. Huge and dynamic community. The software is heavily tested, so bugs are really scarce.
The best open source BI tool available. Simple to get running & just works.
I started testing today locally, loving it. Being able to generate reports and discover data that can be known, that are possible in a simplified way using the data of Mariadb bank.
I recommend it, it will help me a lot, I recommend it to developers and entrepreneurs, if you know SQL help, however it is not really necessary, since the query editor is well-designed and it is also easy to map relationships between tables if they are not recognized.
Their aim is to empower everyone no matter their technical level to ask/answer questions about their data. I was blown away with the fact that it lives up to its promise.
It has a strong community with a few extremely helpful people glad to help which you can't beat for free! That's not to say I don't have complaints. For one there is next to no options for or literally no options for changing the size/formatting of font sizes, no markdown support in tables or an html template card to add to dashboards. My solution was to use Metabase to create/prototype my questions and then using the REST API I have a dashboarding software called Klipfolio import the results in json automatically on an fast refresh interval (1 min).
So really the sky is the limit, and this is version 0.3x right now .... The future is looking bright!
simple, powerfull and open source for data manipulation
