    MenuTools is described as 'simple program that extends the basic functionality of the Windows system menu'. There are more than 10 alternatives to MenuTools for Windows, Windows Explorer, SIMBL, PortableApps.com and Mac. The best alternative is SmartSystemMenu, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like MenuTools are DeskPins (Free, Open Source), eXtra Buttons (Free), DM2 (Free, Open Source) and FileBox eXtender (Free, Open Source).

    2. DeskPins can be used to make any application topmost, that is, to keep it above all other windows. Just grab a pin from the DeskPins icon in the system notification area (a.k.a. taskbar tray) and click on any window.

    3. eXtra Buttons lets you add up to 10 additional buttons to the title bar of each window, which allow you to minimize the window to the tray, keep it on-top, send it to the background, adjust the window's transparency and more.

    7. Simply double-click programs systray icon, and then left click the title of the window wanted to be Always on top.... Cool feature: Windows shake when set to stay on top, with the aforementioned method.

      PowerMenu is a small application that some extra menu items to the windows control menu in addition to the standard "Close", "Maximize", etc options. The extra menus are: Priority, Always On Top, Transparency and Minimize To Tray.
